Frequently asked questions

What is auto detailing?

The term ‘car detailing’ encompasses the process of thorough cleaning, restoration (such as paint correction/polishing) and finishing of a vehicle, with the aim of bringing it back to absolute showroom condition. Every nook and cranny is literally tackled down to the last detail. Both the interior and the exterior can be treated.

Traditional car cleaning companies and car washes aim to polish as many cars as possible in as little time as possible. While these services generally perform simple tasks, they often cause paint damage, wax scratches and other imperfections from improper washing techniques.

Unlike these companies, we put quality over quantity. At Fine Finish Auto Detail in OKC we repair this damage and strive for perfection. We achieve the very best results by using the best materials, products and techniques.

What is ceramic coating and how long does it last?

Ceramic coating, also called glass coating, forms an extra hard top layer over the existing paintwork of the car. This layer adheres to the surface and not only keeps your car clean and shiny for longer, but is also more scratch-resistant and extremely water and dirt repellent.

Can a clay bar/clay treatment remove scratches?

A surface treatment with a clay bar only removes excess dirt (such as tree sap/resin and other contaminations) from the paintwork that cannot be removed by washing the car. A clay treatment therefore does not remove scratches.

What are swirls or swirl marks?

Swirls or swirl marks are simply super fine scratches in the paint. They are usually caused by wiping the car with a dry towel (usually if it is dusty) or by incorrect washing techniques. Swirls are often most noticeable on black or dark cars, because the sides of the scratches reflect light.
